Accidents are the world's third worst killer. While medical science makes great progress in combating disease and illness, the mounting toll from accidents shows no signs of decreasing. With this in mind, the World Health Organization has chosen as a theme for World Health Day, April 7, 1961, "Accidents and their Prevention."
