115 million tourists abroad

The United Nations General Assembly has designated 1967 as International Tourist Year. In devoting this issue to international tourism, and more especially to that new phenomenon of our times " Cultural Tourism ", we have sought to show, in the words of Mr Arthur Haulot, president of the International Union of Official Travel Organizations, " the far stronger ties now drawing men everywhere closer to each other and thereby achieving the cultural enrichment of all mankind. "
