Organized every 2 years, the forum is one of the world’s major science events. It brings together over 600 scientists and provides linkages between scientists, industry and policy makers to focus on the social and economic relevance, influence and responsibilities of science. This edition of the forum is organized Under the theme "Science for Peace"
The 2017 World Science Forum will will take place in Jordan, at the heart of a region where countless civilizations have had to innovate to survive, where innovative adaptation and cultural exchange have gone hand in hand over many millennia.

Participants will have ample opportunities to exchange and debate during session on diverse topics, including: Energy and Water, Food, Climate Change, the Alleviation of Poverty and Inequality, Cultural Understanding Between Peoples and the Creation of Wealth and Opportunity Within All Societies.

Displays and exhibitions will highlight and showcase the work of Jordanian scientists, engineers, and researchers.

A special celebration of the World Science Day for Peace and Development will take place on 10 November.
